Nutraceutical Perspectives in the Global Scenario – Recent Innovation Profiles

Globally, on one side the developing counties with undernourished population and the other side the developed countries with increasing aged population are prone to the risk of malnutrition and age related diseases, respectively. Besides, modern life style in urban communities involves various physical and mental stresses. The lifestyle and age related diseases, whose onset and advancement are directly related to eating habits, could be conquered with proper nutrition. Therefore, nutraceutical fortified foods are gaining importance for healthy living. We have developed a range of nurtaceutical ingredients such as diet fiber (SUNFIBER®), green tea catechins (Sunphenon®), L-theanine (SuntheanineTM), egg yolk protein and peptides, fortified minerals (ex. SunActive Fe™), vitamins and PUFA products (EPA and DHA) with tested safety and efficacy in animal and human subjects for many health benefits. With a unique technology we achieved efficient nutrient delivery system for various nutrients with the merits of stability, taste, safety and high bioavailability. These products with the concept of `Health functionality` offer great potential for food industries in the growing market of nutritional and functional foods.
